As APTA President and CEO Michael Melaniphy stated earlier this week, APTA ran the figures for the November Transit Savings Report. It may be a surprise to some that even with a drop in gasoline prices, Americans can still save big when they take public transit instead of driving.
While Americans take the time to give thanks for their family and friends, what may also be on their minds is the need to look for ways to stretch the household dollar further during the holidays. So as you sit down for a big meal and football (or Black Friday shopping), think about how transit could help you save money in the future. What would you do with an extra $9,798 per year?
